About Us

In 1998 a Development Committee applied to the Commonwealth Government for a grant to establish a call centre in Cooma.  This was successful and led to the Cooma Monaro Shire Council winning a grant of $1.65 million to develop a Call Centre/Technology Centre.  The Development Committee found a suitable location and the Cooma Monaro Technology Centre LTD was formed to operate the new Cooma Call Centre.

The grant to Cooma-Monaro Shire Council was administered by the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. Cooma Monaro Shire Councils ‘Cooma Call Centre Committee’ acted as project managers until the company was formed.

By 2002 the call centre was operating as an independent small business in its own right. The Call Centre has continued to be a quality service provider to both Government Departments and Private Enterprise.

Initially beginning with a contract for, what was then, the Department of Transport and Regional Services, we have now  become a major Government Department outsource call centre winning several other contracts with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, as well as:

• Department of Industry, Resource and Development

• Department of Communications, IT & Arts

• Department of Health and Aging

• Department of Environment & Conservation

• Department of Climate Change

• Cooma Monaro Shire Council / Snowy River Shire Council small projects that required outbound calls / or mailing / surveys and reminder calls

• Private enterprise - outbound calls to update databases / clarify information / or inform contacts of upcoming issues

Over the last 18 months we have diversified our focus slightly to include local small business and independent client including mailing services, typing and Analogue Dictaphone transcribing. 

The Call Centre has a consistent flexible workforce which is able to adapt according to contract requirements. This is backed by a pool of casual employees trained to extend our capability at short notice.
